The Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia inaugurates at the Centro Culturale Candiani the third rendezvous of the project “Cortocircuito. Dialogo tra i secoli” with an exhibition (conceived by Gabriella Belli and curated by Antonio Hamem) which retraces, by means of a group of more than forty works from the Sonnabend Collection, the extraordinary decade of the 1960s, a time when the US started to endorse a new way of conceiving a work of art that took on board the challenge of the emerging mass culture and new media: Pop Art.

The Pop Art masters, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Jim Dine, Tom Wesselman, Robert Rauschenberg, will be presented in Mestre along with contemporary European artists such as Pistoletto, Arman, Christo and Matrio Schifano, as well as other authors belonging to the following generation, such as Jeff Koons and Haim Steinbach who reinterpreted Pop Art through a more conceptual approach.
